The events depicted on this timeline are intended to show the major events (including the first production of series ship classes) of the Starfleet Command timeline, in order to merge the various sources used.

20th Century

YEAR EVENT REF
1989 Two ships of the DY series were constructed in the province of Xuhan in the country of China; the start of the modern era. [1]
1990 The DY-100 model begins production by the Dinyan-Yoyodyne Conglomerate. [1]
1992 Khan Noonian Singh and other eugenically-enhanced superhumans take over most of South and Southeast Asia on Earth. [1]
1996 Production of the DY-100 model is interrupted by constant warfare between the Singh supermen and finally international response to stop the violence. [1]

21st Century

YEAR EVENT REF
2001 The (original) United Nations collapses. [2]
2001 The PRC begins construction of the DY-200 model. [1]
2011 The New United Nations convenes for the first time.
2018 The US Strategic Command turns over its peaceful space mission role to the International Space Agency (ISA).
2031 The United States, Eastern Coalition and European Alliance work together to divert a series of asteroids from hitting the planet, capturing six of them for resource mining. [3]
2032 09 February: Zefram Cochrane was born in St. Paul, Minnesota. [4][5]
2035 The first extrasolar colonization modification of the DY series, the DY-300, goes into production. [1]
2036 The first two of the TAU series of sublight explorers are launched. [6]
2045 A flyby survey by drone indicates the a Centauri system has seven planets, a means of producing return propellent and evidence of the presence of carbon-based life on the fourth and seventh planets of a Centauri A. [7]
2046 21 January: UNSS Nautilus was the first ship to boost out of Earth orbit on her way to Tau Ceti. [7]
2053 01 May: World War Three breaks out. [8]
2053 The New United Nations collapses, in light of the world war. [9]
2058 During a preliminary experiment, conducted by Zefram Cochrane, to search for subspace layers, all six O'Neil asteroid habitats vanish. [10]
2061 Zefram Cochrane tests the first continuum distortion unit inside an underground Titan V/VI assembly hangar, and is able to accelerate a test payload to lightspeed. [9]
2063 05 April: Zefram Cochrane tests the Phoenix, demonstrating warp drive by achieving Warp 1 for approximately one minute in the Sol system. [11]
2063 05 April: A passing Vulcan ship, the T'Plana-Hath, detects the warp signature and lands in Bozeman later that evening, officially making first contact with Humans. [12]
2063 28 April: Zefram Cochrane releases all documents on his warp technology into the public domain. [13]
2064 Survey cruisers SS Defiant and SS Valiant were sent out on twenty-year missions to find the limits of human reach with the new drive. [13]
2065 The first official diplomatic expedition from Vulcan arrives onEarth. [14]
2065 The Sparon-DeSoto treaty forces the national militaries to crew their armed spacecraft with international members. [14]
2065 The New United Nations is resurrected. [9]
2065 The first warp-capable DY model, the DY-430, enters production. [1]
2069 The International Space Agency is split, by the United Earth Defense Pact, into two different agencies: the United Earth Space Fleet for previously internationally-crewed defense vessels (under the control of United Earth Space Central) and the United Earth Space Probe Agency (UESPA) for exploration missons. [14]
2071 The DY-600 model enters production. [1]
2073 The Earth initiates first contact with Tellar, when the SS Leif Eirickson arrives in orbit. A few days later, a Tellarite mining vessel is detected and captured in the Sol system. [14]
2073 The Verne class survey cruiser enters service with the United Earth Space Fleet. [15]
2073 The DY-500 model begins production. [1]
2080 The Cosmos class nearspace survey cruiser enters service with the United Earth Space Fleet. [16]
2087 The United Earth Defense Pact and its United Earth Space Fleet are disbanded and most of its space assets given over to a truly unified UE Starfleet, under the aegis of the New United Nations. [14]
2091 The UESF Academy is opened. [14]
2091 The Hercules transport enters service with the UE Starfleet. [17]
2096 The first incursion of Sol by a hostile force occurred when the Kzinti attacked. [18]
2096 The first of the Ottawa subclass of Hercules transports enters service with the UE Starfleet. [17]
2098 The last Kzinti fleet is repulsed. [18]
2099 The first of the Karakorum subclass of Hercules transports enters service with the UE Starfleet. [17]

22nd Century

2101 The Roanoke transport (FJ-100 in civilian use) enters service with the UE Starfleet. [19]
2102 The DY-730 models (Bremen, Gardner, Tycho) enter production. [1]
2108 The Gemini subclass (FJ-200 in civilian use) of the Roanoke transports enters service with the UE Starfleet. [19]
2113 By this time on Earth, war, poverty, disease, and the causes thereof have been eliminated. [20]
2118 The Stuart class transport enters service with the United Earth Starfleet. [21]
2119 Zefram Cochrane vanishes. [9]
2120 The first flight of Siebel class strike transport (FC-80) enters service with the United Earth Starfleet. [21]
2121 The Homa Bay subclass (FJ-500 in civilian use) of the Roanoke transports enters service with the UE Starfleet. [19]
2123 The Indian River subclass (FJ-750 in civilian use) of the Roanoke transports enters service with the UE Starfleet. [19]
2123 The Neptune surveyor subclass (SV-50) of the Stuart transports enters service with the United Earth Starfleet. [21]
2125 The DY-900 model enters production. [1]
2128 The DY-950 models (Grove and Manchester) enter production. [1]
2130 The Traité d'Unification is signed by a majority of Earth's nations, establishing the new United Earth government. [22]
2130 Durance class transports entered service with the UE Starfleet. [23]
2132 The first hostilities with the Romulan Star Empire occured with the first offensive action taken against USS Balboa. [24]
2139 The Djartanna class destroyer, a joint product of the Centurans and Earth, enters service with bothe the UESF and Centauri Overseers. [25]
2144 The Vanguard class fast transport enters service with the UESF. [26]
2144 USS Atlas (Vanguard class) is lost to covert Romulan attack shortly after entering service. [26]
2145 The Daedalus class survey cruiser enters operational service with the UESF with the commissioning of the USS Horizon. [27]
2146 The Triton class heavy cruiser enters service with the UESF. [28]
2146 The Iceland class destroyer enters service with the UESF. [29]
2146 USS Erie and USS Keflov, escorting a group of medium freighters to Earth Colony Six, are destroyed by what are initially thought to be Nausicaan raiders. [29]
2146 The DY-1000 test model, experimenting with new advances in warp-ring technology, begins shake-down runs. [1]
2149 The Hopkins class hospital ship enters service with the UESF. [30]
2151 Exercise Deep Sentry, an unsuccessful operation to intimidate the Alpha III colony to return to Earth control, took place. [21]
2151 The Enterprise class heavy cruiser enters service with the UESF. [31]
2151 The Cavalry class destroyer enters service with the UESF. [32]
2152 The first phased particle beam weaponry (also known as phasers) is introduced. [29]
2153 24 April: The USS Intrepid (Triton class) defeats three Klingon Birds of Prey in battle. [28]
2154 The Mercury class scout enters service with the UESF. [33]
2156 Rihannsu attacks against Earth colonies and the first punitive missions against the Romulans began, as the Romulan War erupts. [18][24]
2156 Exercise Deep Vigil, an unsuccessful operation to intimidate the Ophicus colony to return to Earth control, took place. [21]
2156 The second flight of Durance class transports, the Redstone subclass, entered service with the UE Starfleet. [23]
2158 The third flight of Durance class transports, the Chryse subclass, entered service with the UE Starfleet. [23]
2158 Romulan forces make attempts to attack Earth directly, resulting in hurried mass defensive ship formations. [25]
2159 The war becomes one of attrition, when the allies begin counter-offensive missions. [24]
2060 The battle of Cheron is waged and won by the allies. [24]
2160 The Cimarron DY-1200 enters service with both civilian companies and the UESF. [1]
2161 The Romulan War is over. [24]
2161 The United Federation of Planets is founded. [34][35]
2161 The UFP Starfleet is founded. [34][35]
2161 Starfleet Academy is established in San Francisco. [35]
2162 Conflict with the Tarn. [18][32]
2164 The Tarn conflict is resolved, in a draw. [32]

23rd Century

YEAR EVENT REF
2250 The Federation colony on Archanis IV is attacked, resulting in the death of 112 Federation citizens by attackers unknown. [36]
2251 Captain Garth of the USS Xenophon, investigating the attack upon Archanis IV, discovers a disabled Klingon cruiser inside Federation space. This leads him to discover the presence of a Klingon garrison on the nearby Federation protectorate world of Axanar. The Four Years War breaks out when Klingon Admiral Kkorhetza declines the opportunity to surrender the garrison. [36]
2255 The Four Years War concludes with a draw and the establishment of a Klingon neutral zone. The long 'cold war' period with the Klingon Empire starts at this point. [36]
2273 The huge, autonomous vessel known as V'Ger approaches Earth after passing through a portion of the Klingon Empire. [37]

24th Century

2312 Starfleet formally adopts the Terrance-Neltorr Graduated (TNG) warp scale. [38]
