• Cold Station 12 opens as a medical research laboratory operated by the United Earth Ministry of Science.

• March: Earth is attacked by a superweapon from the Delphic Expanse, launched by the Xindi. The attack decimates a large area between Florida and Venezuela, killing seven million people.

• 24 April: Explorer UESS Enterprise (NX-01) returns to Earth.

• 24 April: The UESS Intrepid (Triton heavy destroyer), in the first major human-Klingon naval confrontation, challenges and defeats three Klingon Birds of Prey.
