Historical Events

• The USS Carrizal (Messier class) is detected by the Romulans as it passes through their system, though the vessel did not detect them in return due to technical problems. The Romulans are insulted by the perceived snub.

The Carrizal as a Messier class is assumed, as is the technical issues that caused the Humans to take no notice of the starfaring race in the system.

• The first hostilities with the Romulan Star Empire occurs with the first offensive action taken against USS Balboa (CA-177, Messier cruiser) when the Romulans detect it in their space. These initial clandestine Rihannsu attacks against Terran, Andorian, Tellarite, and other shipping mark the first part of the conflict. This first phase is characterized by a lack of coordinated UESN/UESF response and continues until the Romulans deem it impossible to maintain the veil of secrecy any longer.

• Construction of the Ilthirin class couriers starts for the Andorian Imperial Guard.

• The final Class B1/K-197 "Gull" heavy transatmospheric pod is replaced by the Class B2 in service with the United Earth Stellar Navy and the United Earth Space Probe Agency.

• The last of the Durance class transports is completed.
