Historical Events

  • By: Test articles of PB-34 warp engines with 75 meter nacelles, a RMR-282 antimatter powerplant, and a 60 m diameter primary hull for the extended-range corvette design are ready.[1]
  • USS Fortune (NCC-805, Sentinel cruiser) self-destructs in order to defeat raiders (later assessed to have been of Ferengi origin or employ). She is the last of her class to be lost.[2]
  • Fourteen (of 20) Baton Rouge class heavy cruisers re-enter service following the dilithium regulation engine refit.[4]
  • The first of the Hermes class scouts begins receiving a refit to Hermes II/Monoceros standards.[5]
  • USS Monoceros (NCC-601) begins construction as the first newbuild of the Hermes II/Monoceros scouts.[5]
  • The Federation, for the final year, continues to utilize bioagents in attacks on the Klingon agricultural worlds.[6]
  • The Mojave sub-class (to Texas refit) light cruiser enters service with Star Fleet. The conversion process for USS Mojave (NCC-927) was found to be especially awkward and costly, however, and the funding for a total of thirty refits was instead redirected to 23 new-builds.[7]
  • The final Voyager sub-class light survey cruiser is completed.[7]
  • USS Eagle, the sole commando cruiser, is completed.[7]
  • The last Hunter and Bloodhound class corvettes are decommissioned.[8]
  • The Majestic sub-class heavy escort enters service with Star Fleet.[9]
  • It is revealed that the Klingons, too, possess the new m/am reactors with natural dilithium reaction control technology.[10]
  • The first run of the Canopus class survey cruiser is completed.[11]
  • The Federation Council places the responsibility of traffic control network erection and maintenance on exploration zones between 100 and 1,000 ly away squarely on Star Fleet, which delegates the chore to Star Fleet Logistics.[12]
  • Tholian forces attack and destroy the New Italy colony, massacring over 200,000 colonists, before being driven away by a hastily assembled Star Fleet reaction force.[17]
  • Late February: Xamdab II is the site of the loss of another Klingon raiding group due to a bait convoy.[15][18]
  • May: Sinbad IV is home to a fledgling colony that is fast becoming a center of commerce and trade in the Aldebaran sector, as well as the site of a rich abundance of natural resources. Based on analysis of data by Star Fleet Intelligence that indicated the planet was the Klingon's next target, the 3rd Marine Brigade was deployed there, supported by their assault ships and a cruiser squadron. An entire Imperial Guard division (numbering 22,896 troops) and a brigade of the Black Staff special forces troops were there—on an unoccupied tropical continent—to greet them. Fierce fighting on the ground followed the achievement of orbital supremacy and the Federation held the world.[15][18]
  • August: The Klingons dramatically increase their power projection into Sector 23-H, with Star Fleet facing a cascade of frigate, cruiser, & battleship losses in one battle alone. Survicors that made it to the Klaf system did so largely due to the sacrifice plays of other starships.[15][18]
As SFC does not emply a sector naming structure that supports "23-H", the actual sector to be named will most likely be the (as yet unnamed) -20 Z-axis sector located under Archanis sector.
  • October: The "Debacle At Giso" saw the destruction or routing of an entire Star Fleet task force within Klingon lines.[15][18]
  • November: The "Defense of Rudgur III" saw the Klingons' first employment of chlortheragen gas to exterminate the majority of a Star Fleet Marine division.[19][15][18]
  • November: The "Battle of Kesse" was a Star Fleet victory for a behind-the-lines strike at an important Klingon supply convoy.[15][18]

Does not suggest he took command this year; it is only known he was commanding this year.
