• "By": Star Fleet reconsiders the construction order for the new heavy frigates to be too large, and cuts the order to 10 Mirandas and 40 Suryas.

• The future USS Miranda (NCC-1833) concludes a series of post-construction test runs.

• February: USS Miranda (NCC-1833) is commissioned and enters service with Star Fleet.

• Construction starts on USS Surya (NCC-1850).

• The last of the Syracuse sub-class ships receive conversions to the new Siva sub-class standards.

• The last of the new-build Siva sub-class destroyers is built.

• The USS Heston, intended as a Richter class cruiser, is instead re-purposed as a battle cruiser.

• The Heston class battle cruiser enters service with Star Fleet.

• The first of eight Richter class cruisers enters drydock for an overhaul into the Heston class battle cruiser.

• The Federation continues to utilize bioagents in attacks on the Klingon agricultural worlds.

• The final Ashanti class battle cruiser is constructed.

• USS Eagle sub-class commando cruiser begins construction.

• This is the target year for Project Starship.

• February 14: A distress call from the Donatu system sends Star Fleet scrambling for ships to rescue the frontier colony. Cruisers USS Endeavor and USS Yorkshire are destroyed, before Constitution, retasked during an evaluation cruise, arrives and engages a series of Klingon cruisers.

• Heavy cruiser Constitution (NX-1700) is moved to rear lines to recover, over three years, from her early combat experiences in the vicinity of Axanar and Donatu.

• USS Enterprise (NCC-1701) begins construction in the San Francisco Fleet Yards (Earth).

• The final Mark I Capella class surveyor is completed.

• The final Mks Ia and Ib Larson class destroyers are completed.

• The initial production run (total 14) of the Nelson class scout is completed.

• The first (of 35) Loknar class frigates enter service with the Andorian Imperial Guard.

In game-canon, the Loknar new-builds didn't enter service with Star Fleet until 2249.

• The design of an extended-range corvette is given to a specially-appointed Star Fleet team of engineers; they had to cope with a shortage of time.

The year is not given by Timo, but Staff Requirement 452/2242/5B appears to have been promulgated in 2242 and by the beginning of 2243, "test articles of all the components existed".

• Following enough deliveries, the first Talion sublight fighter wings are declared operational.

• The Chameleon (along with the Tegu, Gila, Gecko) small craft enter service with Star Fleet.

• November 11th: A Star Fleet relief force from Thranstor arrives in the Nozseca system. Five Icarus / Ashanti class battle cruisers are severely damaged.

• Mid November: In a concentrated sweep of the area near to the Altimus sector, Star Fleet engages en force with a Klingon armada in the Nostveg system. Primary combat occurs in the vicinity of the third planet.

• Mid-December: A bait convoy, Y-16Z, departs Deuteronomy III, with planned stops to resupply repair outposts and three colonies on the way to the New Aberdeen Yards at Alderbaran III. The Klingons spring the trap in the vicinity of the Rebonet system, losing their entire raiding group, with three K-5 Dupat class light cruisers captured by Star Fleet.
