Historical Events

• USS San Diego (NCC-1441, Baton Rouge heavy cruiser) conducts a classified mission to the heart of the Romulan Star Empire.

The nature of the mission is not yet game-canon.

• The final Navigator subclass light cruiser is decommissioned.

• USS Read (Byrd galactic survey cruiser) returns from her second and final galactic survey.

• The final Capella class surveyor / supply ship is decommissioned.

• The seven Unity command cruisers are decommissioned and mothballed for future sale to trusted rimward allies, for use as defense cruisers.

• The Soyuz survey frigates receive a modernization refit.

The year is presumed, to match that of the Mirandas.

• Three Okinawa light frigates—USS Lake Pontchartrain (NCC-1280), USS Uvs Nuur (NCC-1286), and USS Shikotan (NCC-1252)—escort a Star Fleet task force during a fleet engagement deep inside Romulan space.

• The first Samson fleet tug/tender conversion to Flight II configuration is completed.

• Operation Grey Ghost, Star Fleet's adventurist Romulan expedition, includes the 6 Texas-refitted Navigator light cruisers, USS Dauntless (NCC-1697, Pyotr Velikiy/Beowulf class cruiser), and USS Eagle (NCC-956, Texas light cruiser).

At the time of this entry, I have not determined yet what variant of the class of which the Dauntless was a member.

• USS Lakani (NCC-R1229, Cle Dan class repair tender) is captured intact by the Romulans while supporting Operation Grey Ghost in Rihannsu space.

• The remaining CF-268A Torches, utilized only in training roles, are withdrawn from service.

• An independent Tellarite group establishes a colony on Maeglin.

Maeglin will not fall under Federation authority.

• The Class F4 medium shuttle is retired from Star Fleet service.

• The final Type 30 aquashuttle is assembled.

• The present ships of the Oberth type receive the new WD-3B nacelles, modern powerplants, upgraded computers, and a new paint scheme.

• USS Gagarin, USS Banting, and USS Cooper (NCC-630, -639, and -635, respectively, and all Oberth class science scouts) are fitted with a single bow tube and a magazine for 10-15 shots, and dual-mode software added to short range sensors, thereby establishing the (limited) Gagarin tactical scout subclass.

• The Pakokku supply ship subclass enters service with Star Fleet.

• The Angueira medical ship subclass enters service with Star Fleet.

• The transporter systems aboard Oberth types are upgraded to Mark IV status.

• USS Williams (Chandley Flt III strike frigate class) is lost during the evacuation of Niri.

• The final Flight I Baker class light exploratory cruiser is converted into a Flight III destroyer.

• The final converted Achernar class starship is recommissioned as an Endeavor subclass cruiser.

• March 12th: Heavy cruiser USS Victory (NCC-1760) begins an infiltration mission (i.e., Operation Grey Ghost) into the Romulan Star Empire through the Fire Swamp Nebula.
