- The entire run of the scout subclass Keiths are produced.[25]
- The final 2 Santee shuttlecarriers were transferred to the reserves as "escort carriers".[26]

- The commercial variant of the Mark I will continue to be produced into 2270.
- The Vulcans sponsor the construction of two Defender class battleships, the USS M’Hasien and USS S’Harien at New Aberdeen.[28]
- Construction on Defender class battleships USS Dataphda and USS Divine Wind begins at Tiburon and Izar, respectively.[28]
- The planets of Ramatis are threatened by an uncontrolled Star Fleet starship traveling at high warp towards the system.[29]
- The Starnes Expedition, a party of archeologists on Triacus, are all fatally poisoned (with the exception of the children) by a malevolent entity, the last of its kind.[30]
- The United Federation of Planets extends membership to Janus VI.[31][32]
- The United Federation of Planets extends membership to Zaran II.[31][32]
- The Bader class exploratory cruisers resume their original role of exploration.[33]
- As a result of the Organian truce of the previous year.
- The USS Bader, USS Clifton, and USS Tombaugh (Bader class exploratory cruisers) host a series of Sagan Award recipients for the first year, while the USS Akela and USS Crescent retrace old survey routes.[33]
- This occurs through 2274.
- The final Mk I Solar class cutter scheduled for refit to Mk III standard is completed.[34]
- SS Lucas Garner (NAR-29611, Sulek or Velikovski prospector) visits Starbase 11 prior to departing for a prospecting sortie to Beta Vertis, where the vessel stakes the iridium-platinum asteroids for Federation use.[35]

- Mid: USS Exeter (NCC-1706, Constitution heavy cruiser) is towed from Omega IV, fumigated, and idled until 2272.[24]
- The fumigation is presumed, and the return from dormancy (in 2272) is based upon it being idle, without a crew, and so more likely to be converted earlier than some other active ships.
