Historical Events

  • Five command variant Caracal class ships (Palomar, Long Beach, Tayi, Dominium and R’Sah-Dan) are re-activated (from the reserves) to make up for a shortfall in second-tier cruiser numbers.[1]
  • USS Sindbad (NCC-I823, Sawyer class light scout) has the distinct honor of carrying President Varis to Axanar for the signing of the Rehabilitation Treaty.[2]
  • The Kovaris subclass (of the Trent class) light destroyer is retired from service with Star Fleet. At least twelve are mothballed.[4]
  • USS Vasco da Gama (NCC-1472, Aldrin sub-class) is lost in an engagement with the Klingons.[5]
  • USS Siva (NCC-520) is the first to receive a refit to Siva II configuration.[6]
  • The Icarus and Ashanti class battle cruisers and Apache class heavy destroyers begin receiving updated transporters.[7]
  • The last of the Hale class scouts is decommissioned. Some of the ships are acquired as training facilities for firefighting and sealing crews until the mid-2270s.[8]
  • The final ship of the Taurus sub-class cruiser is completed at Aldebaran.[9]
  • Some of the Pyotr Velikiy class heavy cruisers begin refits to the Beowulf sub-class configuration, while others begin refits to the Mk III configuration.[10]
  • Construction of the Mk II Larson class destroyer begins.[11]
  • The first conversion of a Mk I Larson class destroyer to Mk II begins.[11]
  • Mk I Larson class destroyers not selected for Mk II conversion begin refits.[11]
  • The series of aggressive incidents by Klingons begun in 2246 concludes.[12]
  • Construction begins on the first Flight II Loknar class frigates.[13]
  • The final Grayson subclass buoy tender is completed.[14]
  • The T'Pari surveyor starts service with the Vulcan Science Directorate.[16]
  • Star Fleet releases Staff Requirement (226/2250/14d) for a fast tug-type transport.[17]
  • Prototype construction of the Ohio light fleet tug begins.[17]
This will occur very shortly after the release of Staff Requirement (226/2250/14d) (above).
  • Star Fleet decides the technology to build dreadnoughts is now available.[19]
