Historical Events

  • Early: USS Republic is re-activated into Star Fleet service with prototype registry NX-1371.[1]
  • The final Caracal class ships are retired.[2]
  • The final Aholi subclass (of the Ariadne) reconnaissance corvette is completed.[3]
The years of production are mostly conjecture.
  • The Babel Conference is held (and, for the first time, not on Earth).[4]
The source suggests two conferences were held (and boycotted by dissident planets) between the 2238 and (planned) 2241 conferences.
  • USS Resolution (NCC-1101, Detroyat class) is assigned to Star Fleet Research and Development as a testbed for the fully dilithium-compatible Surya class of frigates.[5][6]
The Detroyat article discusses the assignment, and the Miranda article provides the year.
  • Construction of USS Siva (NCC-520), first of the Siva subclass destroyers, begins.[7]
  • The Syracuse subclass ships start receiving conversions to the new Siva subclass standards.[7]
  • USS Hood (NCC-1644, Richter cruiser) disappears without a trace while in supposedly routine transit through Andesian-controlled territory.[8]
  • At least one Richter class cruiser delivers the C-bombs used against the Tobaki dimensional portal.[8]
  • Construction of the USS Pyotr Velikiy (NX-1670) begins.[9]
  • The final Lowell class scout is decommissioned.[10]
  • Star Fleet withdraws the Marine mission from the Hunter class corvettes and places them on regular in-system patrol duty.[11]
  • Fifteen additional Sawyer class light scouts are ordered.[13]
  • April: USS Pyotr Velikiy (NX-1670) receives (from Hellas Planitia) and has installed the main m/am reactor.[9]
  • May: Star Fleet provides the go-ahead for a production model of the Project Starship heavy cruiser class.[1]
This is, of course, the Constitution class, but this was still unnamed in 2239.
  • The PB-23 nacelle is rated in cruising and dash speed tests for the Capella class prototype.[15]
  • Star Fleet initiates the development of a dilithium-based destroyer.[16]
  • Used PB-29 warp nacelles from the Siva conversions become available to Star Fleet for colonial operations.[17]
  • USS Cochrane, under construction above Mars, receives her PB-29 nacelle.[17]
  • Construction begins on the future USS Miranda (NCC-1833), the new heavy frigate.[6]
