Historical Events

  • The SS Valiant's recorder-marker is recovered and the fate of the missing vessel is realized.[1]
  • The final vessel of the second production run of the Allowat Sakima subclass (of the Ariadne) patrol corvette is completed.[2]
The years of production are mostly conjecture.
  • Star Fleet orders the decommissioning of the Baton Rouge heavy cruiser and Nordenskiöld light cruisers. (Only 2 Nordenskiölds are immediately struck by this order.)[3]
The decommissions would spread out and continue until completion in 2277.
  • USS Antares (NCC-F501, Sherman light transport) is destroyed by the metahuman powers of a young crash survivor.[4]
  • One of the two mothballed, incomplete Amchitka light cruiser hulls, the pre-Wotan, is converted into a proof-of-concept testbed (NX-1390) for a ‘defensive monitor’ class.[5]
  • USS Napoleon (NX-1384) is commissioned as a prototype cruiser-carrier.[6]
The concept would be canceled, as a result of testing of the prototype.
  • USS Smith (Byrd galactic survey cruiser) launches on her second galactic survey voyage.[6]
  • The final Victory subclass heavy cruiser (USS Rivoli, NCC-1765) is completed.[7]
The Rivoli as the named ship is game-canon.
  • Klingon ships end a series of frequent raids into UFP territory.[8]
  • The period of time that began in 2246, with very little direct, coordinated military action against Klingon forces, ends.[10]
  • The Surya subclass heavy frigates begin receiving upgrades.[11]
  • USS Bombay (NCC-1838, Miranda heavy frigate) is lost on a deep-space assignment.[11]
  • The original set of Grayson class buoy tenders sent to the reserves are now mothballed.[12]
  • The first set of Finch subclass buoy tenders are transferred to the reserves.[12]
  • The Coventry class strike frigates and the Benning subclass heavy frigates receive a weapons upgrade.[13]
  • Hopi large survey cruiser USS Kanesatake is damaged in an engagement with Talarians, resulting in an unidentified warp imbalance that tears the ship to pieces ten days later.[14]
  • USS Collins (NCC-1839, Soyuz survey frigate) suffers an apparent reactor failure, forcing her to abort her mission and accept personnel rescue, before her complete destruction.[15]
  • Following the earlier loss of USS Collins, the other two ships are restricted to warp 6.[15]
  • Okinawa light frigate USS Great Lakes (NCC-1281) is re-commissioned as USS R.L. Stevenson.[16]
The year is arbitrarily decided.
  • Star Fleet’s commitment to the exploratory mission begins to wane.[18]
Lack of interest is still "beginning" into the next year (2266).
  • Construction of the first flight of Bader class exploratory cruisers concludes. All vessels—in service and under assembly—start being upgraded as Flights II.[18]
  • USS Sphinx (NCC-D853, Centaurus class) is sabotaged by unidentified foreign operatives; her entire crew is killed, due to life support shutdown.[19]
  • Star Fleet starts decommissioning Mk VI Solar class cutters, as the more capable Epsilons are delivered.[20]
  • Early: Two dreadnoughts of indigenous construct and design are nearing completion at Deneb Alpha V.[21]
  • Mid: "Defenders" USS Deneb (NCC-2002) and USS Inaieu (NCC-2003) are commissioned, with Star Fleet admirals Fitzpatrick and Sha’av in attendance. The ships operate under local defense force control, ceding to Star Fleet authority in fleet actions.[21]
  • Late: The final Bonhomme Richard Type 2 heavy cruiser (USS Enterprise, NCC-1701) undergoes conversion to the Constitution Flight III configuration.[7]
