Historical Events

  • The last of the Baton Rouge sub-class is decommissioned. USS San Diego (NCC-1441) is preserved for posterity.[1]
  • A decade after her decommissioning and bitter preservation battles, ex-USS Mojave becomes the sole museum specimen for the entire Texas family.[2]
  • The last of the Rochester and Kitty Hawk sub-classes are decommissioned. As they are not cleared for foreign sales due to their advanced armament and the general policy change, the ships start to undergo scrapping, mostly at Aldebaran.[3]
The last four Kitty Hawks-including USS Trailblazer (NCC-1596) and USS Scovil (NCC-1598)-had been quietly transferred to TacFleet and were not decommmisioned based upon this date.
  • USS Kongo (NCC-1710, Constitution heavy cruiser) suffers a crippling onboard explosion.[4]
  • USS Pompey (NCC-506) and USS Suleiman (NCC-508), both Pompey subclass, are retired.[5]
  • The final Aakenn subclass heavy transport is either retired from Star Fleet duty or sold to commercial interests.[6]
  • The final Constitution Flight III heavy cruisers are either refitted or decommissioned.[4]
  • The final Samson fleet tug/tender is converted to Flight II configuration.[7]
  • The final Class G3 heavy shuttle is retired from Star Fleet service.[8]
  • The final Mk IIa Malaka subclass resource/SIGINT scout is retired from Star Fleet service.[9]
  • The final Mk Ib Aden subclass patrol cutter is retired from Star Fleet service.[9]
  • USS Bretha (NCC-3425, Hellespont class escort) has a "notorious" misadventure into Gorn space.[10]
Must occur before her decommissioning at New Judaea.
  • With the decommissioning of USS Bretha (NCC-3425), the Hellespont class escort is no longer in Star Fleet service.[10]
This will be completed by 2279, while the three Flight IIs operated by Star Fleet Training Command as training ships continue on to 2324.
  • The final Pakokku subclass supply ship enters service with Star Fleet.[12]
  • The final Angueira subclass medical ship enters service with Star Fleet.[12]
  • The Komarov tactical scout subclass enters service with Star Fleet.[12]
  • The Darwin light surveyor subclass enters service with Star Fleet.[13]
  • Star Fleet Command decides to apply the linear warp engine modernization program to the Chandley class strike frigates.[15]
  • Except for limited runs when the requirement arose, the Type 1 "Marco Polo" survey shuttle variant ceases production.[16]
  • The first Tikopai subclass cruiser enters service with Star Fleet.[17]
  • The final Constitution Flight IV cruiser is recommissioned.[17]
