Beta Rigel ABC (Class A, B, & B)
There are no significant planetary bodies in orbit of the trinary system.
However, the Hakel radiation belt protects most of the planets in both systems from the extremities radiated by Beta Rigel A.

Beta Rigel B (Class B)
There are no significant planetary bodies in orbit of this single system.
Beta Rigel C (Class B)
There are no significant planetary bodies in orbit of this single system.
History
- About 220,000 BCE: Some Orions from Pi-3 Orionis are transplanted to Rigel VII.[1]
- About 203,000 BCE: Orion astronauts reach Rigel XIII and study the cosmic string located above the planet's south pole.[1]
- 200,993 BCE: The Great Orion Empire (aka, First Orion Empire) is formed.[1]
- About 141,430 BCE: The Great Orion Empire is destroyed by Doomsday Machines.[1]
- About 32,720 BCE: The Second Orion Empire is in conflict with the First Federation.[1]
- About 8,000 BCE: The Twelfth Orion Empire expands into the Alpha quadrant.[1]
- 5,200 BCE: The Twelfth Orion Empire falls.[1]
- 453: A Debrune fleet led by Vice Admiral Torek—splintered off from the Romulan diaspora—invades and settles on Rigel V, entering into conflict with the native and primitive Kaylar.[1]
- These Debrune will name themselves V'gelnians (after their name for Rigel V) and will eventually refer to themselves as Zami.
- 553: The Zami and Kaylar settle into their preferred parts of Rigel V, ending the general conflict, with the Zami entering into trade deals with the neighboring Orions.[1]
- 1529: The Vegan Tyranny attacks Rigel VII, causing the destruction of the advanced Orion culture there, resulting in a return to barbarism.[1]

Notes
- Some planets within the Rigel systems are dated to be older than the stars themselves, suggesting they were moved to their current orbits from an unknown origin and by unknown forces.
- Various sources differ in the number of stars in the Rigel systems. While the usual arbiter, Star Charts, has it as one Type A, SFC is settling on the trinary depicted above,
- It is understood the numbering sequence should start from "I" for the planet systems around both Beta Rigel A and Beta Rigel BC. However, most common names for both systems has Beta Rigel BC's planets start at "XIII".
- Per the various sources, SFC canon has that the Orions originated in the Pi-3 Orionis system, while some Orions were re-settled (around 220,000 BCE) on Rigel VII (in this system).
- Per Last Unicorn Games, Decipher, and Star Charts, the United Rigel Worlds and Colonies was comprised of Beta Rigel II, Beta Rigel IV, Beta Rigel V, Beta Rigel VI and Beta Rigel X and had joined with the UFP in either 2164 or 2202. Other sources had conflicting data. SFC-canon holds that the three homeworlds in the Beta Rigel system had colonial control over one or more planets (each) in the system. That works out to be:
- Additionally, the United Rigel Worlds and Colonies served as a forum (think United Nations) for the various states and colonies to maintain interplanetary peace and security, develop positive relations among the planets, and achieve cooperation regarding common challenges. While all Rigelian societies were represented in the United Rigel forum, only some became members of the Federation. Therefore, in SFC, the United Rigel Worlds and Colonies is not a subordinate form of state within the Federation, but a separate and inclusive organization parallel to it.
- It would appear to be, at the time of this writing, that the center of Orion culture is here in the Beta Rigel system, rather than in the Pi-3 Orionis one, despite that as their (apparent) point of origin.
- The Beta Rigel A system has an asteroid belt in orbit 2; however, the belt was never popularly named, so the planets are named as if the belt were absent.
- SFC sets up a rather different configuration of the entire Beta Rigel system than most sources. There are two planetary systems: Beta Rigel A and Beta Rigel BC. Four of the Rigelian species inhabit planets around Beta Rigel A, while the fifth (the Jelna) inhabit the moons of Rigel XV, in the Beta Rigel BC system. SFC does not have any planetary bodies around Beta Rigel B or C, individually, as they orbit each other too close to be viable planetary supporters.
- For the communal use of the term, see "Rigelian".
- The Hakel radiation belt emitted by Beta Rigel A provides a "green zone" environment for all the planets—including those in orbit of Beta Rigel BC—with the exception of Rigel I and the asteroid belt situated in the orbit just beyond it.
