Historical Events
- The Hippolyta class clipper is retired from service.[1]
- The Capitol class command ships undergo engine overhauls.[2]
- The Broadway class cultural exchange ships undergo engine overhauls.[2]
- The Castor class survey cruisers are stricken from the Star Fleet rolls.[3]
- The remaining ships the Caracal class complete their weapons upgrades.[4]
- The Pointer class corvette is retired from service.[6]
- From this year through 2219, no common Star Fleet corvette type is in operation.[7]
- In light of the retirement of the Pointer corvettes, the Alexandria class corvette tenders receive refits that transition them to standard freighters.[8]
- The last of the Trent and Horatio light destroyer subclass new-builds enter service with Star Fleet.[9]
- Star Fleet begins to re-organize from its initial chain of command structure (Joint Chiefs of Staff over five branches, split by founding states), to the more task-specific, fully-integrated structure of the modern fleet.[10]
- The Star Fleet Ground Attack Marines are re-named the Star Fleet Marine Corps, though it retains the same organizational structure.[11]
- The SFMC will undergo a modernization reorganization in 2245, following the Four Years War.
- The Military Staff Committee is modified to include the (voting) representative of the Secretary of Star Fleet, in the role of the committee's director, a position usually held by a Star Fleet civilian.[12]
