• USS Rahman (NCC-434, Syracuse sub-class) completes her conversion to the destroyer leader configuration of the Einstein sub-class and is re-commissioned as USS Kelvin (NCC-O434).

• Fifteen (of the 16 built) ships of the Bode class heavy scout enter service with Starfleet.

• Due to the limited nature and relatively safe operating conditions, Starfleet re-designates the Hunter class corvettes as patrol boats.

The year was randomly determined, but the corvette designation would return in 2236.
