Historical Events

  • A new weapons classification system is adopted by Star Fleet, defining individual systems as either 'light', 'medium' or 'heavy' in nature.[1]
  • The Keppler sub-class (of Ptolemy class) fleet tug/tenders start to be overhauled with the LN-52 warp engines.[2]
  • The final Class D6 work pod is removed from service with Star Fleet.[3]
The Constitution article only references "the Klach D’Kel Brakt betrayal," but appears to be about an abrupt change in diplomatic affairs, signaled by a sneak attack.
  • USS Benning (NCC-1244, Benning subclass heavy frigate) is declared lost.[6]
  • The Vulcan Science Directorate's T'Pari surveyors start receiving upgrades to the K’Kmarak standard.[7]
There is a chance this upgrade could be interpreted to apply to the Star Fleet Thuringias too, but that is (in my opinion) unlikely, due to the previous 850 mt installation of 2262.
  • Select command cruisers of the Unity class receive transporter upgrades to Mk IV standard.[9]
  • Twenty-two of the Okinawa class light frigates are selected for and begin refits to Flight II configuration.[10]
See the list in "Notes" section for known ships so converted.
  • Star Fleet uses precise targeting of torpedoes and phasers to resolve both severe tectonic activity and extremely cold polar fronts on Caldos II's terraforming project; orbital microwave conversion satellites are provided to power the necessary weather matrix grid.[13]
  • The USS Bader, USS Clifton, and USS Tombaugh (Bader class exploratory cruisers) host a series of Sagan Award recipients for the fourth year, while the USS Akela and USS Crescent retrace old survey routes.[14]
This occurs through 2274.
  • The last operational D6 work pod is removed from Star Fleet service.[15]
  • The final Solar Mk I class cutter is decmissioned from FCS service.[16]
The version never served with Star Fleet.
  • Type 10 ("Workbee") work pods now monitor the health of the pilot, activating an emergency beacon and returning to base when appropriate.[17]
  • The use of letter codes for non-line ships' registrations is discontinued for all newly-ordered vessels.[18]
They are also removed from (at least) the Procyon class corvettes and Hellespont class escorts around this time (and no later than the end of the decade, per SFC).
  • USS Crimea (NCC-3402) is the last of eight Hellespont class escorts lost to relatively lightly armed raiders, in an attack that claims the lives of her bridge crew.[19]
This has to happen after the Crimea has her registry updated.
  • The final Ranger Flight II courier is assembled.[20]
