Historical Events

• By: Most (but not all) of the Canopus class survey cruisers have been retired.Many are sold to UFP allies and partners.

• The first of the Burke, Aldrin and Magellan subclass frigates (and scout cruisers) start receiving transporter system upgrades.

• USS Byrd (first of her class), on the return leg of her 25-year voyage, re-enters communications range.

• The final Class B2 inspection pod is removed from service with Starfleet.

• USS Republic (NCC-1371, Constitution) is deactivated (mothballed).

She will be re-activated for training purposes in the late 2280s.

• The 2255 upgrade period for the Miranda and Surya heavy frigates completes.
