- January: USS Proxima (NCC-1100, lead ship) enters service with Star Fleet.[1]
- The Bearcat variant of the Big Cat sublight fighter enters service.[2]
- The final Pytheas sub-class exploratory cruiser is built.[3]
- The final Valkyr sub-class shuttlecarrier is commissioned.[4]
- The final Burke sub-class nearspace frigate is built.[5]
- USS Moscow (NCC-1423, Baton Rouge class) becomes the first ship to transmit and USS Tehran (NCC-1419, Baton Rouge class) the first one to receive a living human being intact through a warp-to-warp transport – an impressive achievement considering that only fifteen years earlier, the very concept had been deemed impossible by the Vulcan Science Council.[6]
- The Master class medium fleet tug/tender enters service with Star Fleet.[7]
- Geering presents Starfleet with both a fast and an independent cruiser variant of the basic Burke design.[8]
- VXT Interstellar begins production of the Penzias subclass runabout.[9]
- The Roberts class security cutter enters service with Star Fleet.[10]
- The Constellation prototype conversion receives a finalized primary hull and the first set of PB-30A third-generation nacelles, as well as an advanced compression fusion main power plant. The ship sets sail on early trial runs.[11]
