Historical Events

  • Two Nordenskiöld sub-class light cruisers are decommissioned.[1]
  • USS Siva (NCC-520, Siva Flight II destroyer) enters drydock to receive a second nacelle.[2]
  • The final Voyager sub-class light survey cruiser is decommissioned.[3]
  • The final Texas (II) sub-class light cruiser is decommissioned.[3]
  • The Taurus sub-class cruisers receive transporter upgrades.[4]
  • USS Byrd (first of her class) returns from her second and final galactic survey. After decommissioning, she is placed in orbit around Aldebaran as an exhibit of the history and exploits of the entire class.[5]
The year of exhibition is undetermined.
  • The last HSI(U)-1S 'Banshee' scout (variant of the old Class G1 heavy warp shuttle) is removed from service with Star Fleet, delivered by USS Indus to an allied star system to perform in local patrol and law enforcement roles.[6]
  • Two ships, USS Carmichael (NCC-4705) and USS Henley(NCC-4713), both Wilkerson destroyers, collide in a tractor beam misfire while pulling alongside a replenishment station, with containment failure on both vessels resulting in the loss of 730 lives.[8]
  • The final Whirlwind class assault ship is decommissioned.[9]
  • Three Federation dreadnoughts are not selected for overhaul and two of them are instead placed in a reserve status.[10]
Those two are USS Compactat (NCC-2103), which then went onto training status in 2281, until deactivated in 2287, and USS Confederation (NCC-2114), deactivated in 2281. The third, USS Dominion (NCC-2115), remained on active duty until 2286 and then deactivated in 2295.
The year of the return is generated.
  • The USS Bader, USS Clifton, and USS Tombaugh (Bader class exploratory cruisers) host a series of Sagan Award recipients for the final year, while the USS Akela and USS Crescent retrace old survey routes.[13]
This occurred since 2268.
  • The final Solar Mk III class cutter completes its service with the FCS.[14]
  • The final Mk II Malaka subclass light scoutcraft is retired from Star Fleet service.[16]
  • The remaining Remora class escorts still on active reserve duty (with the exception of USS Remora herself) are honorably discharged and swiftly scrapped.[17]
  • Star Fleet accepts eleven relatively-new AIG Lenthal destroyers, re-designated at Flight II escorts.[18]
