BMI is operated by the Izaran government for the construction and maintenance of local defense forces.

History

  • 2237: Izar is one of several members to express interest in forming separate "defense zones" inside the Federation.[2]
This occurred between 2238 and 2240.
  • 2268-2269: Defender battleship USS Divine Wind is constructed at the Star Fleet Division Bekkaas.[5][4]
  • 2270s: USS Montana (NCC-F663, Ohio light fleet tug) goes missing nearby to Izar.[6]

Important Locations

  • Izar Institute for Meteorology[1]
  • New Seattle (capital)[1]
  • Pibroch City[7]
  • Star Fleet Tactical School[1]

Notes

  • Izar withdrew at some point after the Babel Conference of 2238 and before the end of the Four Years War, as the system rejoined (according to the source) in the 2260s.
  • As Kelvar Garth (of Izar) commanded the Constitution at Axanar in 2241, it is safe to say that he remained a citizen of the Federation after the secession of his home planet a few years earlier.
  • The 2255 colonization effort by the Federation may have been some sort of diplomatic bridge prior to rejoining.
