Historical Events
- The USS Laing (SV-53) is lost on an arctic assignment to an alien force only much later identified as the Borg.[1][2]

- March: Earth is attacked by a Xindi superweapon from the Delphic Expanse, launched by the Xindi. The attack decimates a large area between Florida and Venezuela, killing seven million people.[4]
- 24 April: The USS Intrepid (Triton class), in the first major human-Klingon naval confrontation, challenged and defeated three Klingon Birds of Prey.[3]
