History
- 2189: The planet Aplithin (Archanis IV) is discovered by the Federation.[1]
- 2241: The Klingons obliterate the colonists that returned following the previous reversion to Federation oversight.[4]
- 2240s: The UFP retakes, withdraws from, and then again retakes the planet during the Four Years War.[3][5]
- Four Years War (2241-2245): Raiding (by either Federation or Klingons) against base on the planet with "massive concentration of forces".[3]
- 2267: A Federation research outpost is attacked by unknown raiders (presumed to be Klingons), with the loss of 100 civilians.[5]
- 2272: In the Treaty of Organia, the Klingons cede their claim to the planet.[5]
- 2293: In a compromise, Archanis IV is given to the Klingons in return for the Klingons ceding all other rights to the Archanis sector.[6]
- see notes
- 2333: The Cardassian Union attacks Klingon assets in the Archanis system.[7]
- 2352: The Treaty of Alliance (between the Klingons and UFP) cedes the planet back to the Federation.[5][8][9]
- see notes
- 2372: The system is sieged and then captured by the Klingons during the Klingon-Federation War (2372-2373).[5]
- 2373: Chancellor Gowron demands Archanis IV be ceded to the Klingon Empire as a condition of the cessation of the war.[5]
- The results are unknown.
Notes
- Archanis IV is not a homeworld, but simply a disputed planet with a UFP research facility. The "Arcanians" do not exist in this canon, as the avians are problematic for the constant reversals in affiliation between the Klingon Empire & the UFP.
- The UFP's return of Archanis IV to the Klingons as a part of the 2293 Khitomer Accords is SFC-canon and the opposite of Sisko's claim in DS9. This is based upon the need to have it in Klingon hands when the Cardassians attack it in 2333. We do know the Klingons ceded any claims to the entirety of the sector at the time, so maybe this was the UFP's concession.
- The date of the Treaty of Alliance is a guesstimate, from the DS9 episode "The Way of the Warrior"; this year is supported by LUG's unpublished Klingon sourcebook. The ceding yet again of Archanis IV back to the UFP is necessary for its raiding by the Klingons in 2372.
