Historical Events

• The last of the Siebel FC-100 subclass liaison vessels are withdrawn from UFP Star Fleet service.

• The last of the Turing light destroyer subclass is withdrawn from Star Fleet service.

• USS Icarus (NCC-263, Placido surveyor) is the first to establish contact with a winged—and, indeed, truly airborne—sentient humanoid species on Alpha Virginis II.

• Reports of significant fatigue of the Caracal class pylon arrangement are received by ships with an operational status of three years.

• Heavy cruiser USS Horizon (NCC-1000) enters service with Star Fleet. Seventeen more are ordered and funded, with the first ones to be completed in 2196.

Before the Advance subclass was ordered, 18 were funded; the total was increased to 26 with the Advances.

• Star Fleet orders 8 of a variant of the Sentinel class, known as the Armstrong scout cruiser subclass. Construction starts on the first vessel.

Date of order is presumed to be 4 years prior to first delivery, as was with the Sentinel class.

• The Engineering Division is now planning ship classes two generations ahead of the current Fleet assets.

• Spacedock One is completed and operationally replaces Earthbase One above Earth.

• The Quadros-1 probe is launched by the United Federation of Planets to explore and report back on the Gamma quadrant.

• Star Fleet Special Operations is formed in response to the previous year's Orion Syndicate bioweapon crisis. The operators are known as MeSONs.
