Historical Events

  • The heyday of the Larson class destroyer is decidedly over.[1]
The "heyday" fell between the 2260 upgrade and the Organian peace treaty.
  • The Altair systems inaugurates a new president, which helps stabilize the region.[2]
  • The final Bering class cargo drone is decommissioned.[3]
  • The final Burke class frigate is decommissioned.[4]
  • USS Niantic (NCC-1105, Miramar heavy scout) is lost in action on the hunting grounds of an alien planet-eating device.[5]
  • USS Mojave, sub-class lead light cruiser, is decommissioned and a series of bitter preservation battles begin.[6]
  • USS Constellation (NCC-1017, Constitution heavy cruiser) is sacrificed, in order to destroy the Doomsday Machine.[7]
  • The final Mojave sub-class light cruiser is decommissioned.[6]
  • USS Wotan (NX-1390) is relegated to destructive structural testing, being decommissioned by the end of the year.[8]
  • The final Loknar class frigate is upgraded to Flight IIA standard.[9]
  • The final Federation class dreadnought, USS Unificatum (NCC-2102), is finished and commissioned, entering border patrol service under the command of Commodore William Hastings[10]
The construction of the USS Star Empire (NCC-2116) is not publicly known.
  • June: Sixteen pirate attacks are connected to Orion activity all along the crucial Rigel shipping lane, and several dozen more are suspected of having been committed by Orions.[8]
Event occurs 3 months after the Organian treaty.
  • Mid: The Federation class dreadnoughts finish their offensive, as well as defensive, maneuvers, following the abortive Klingon invasion.[10]
  • Mid: Hopi class large survey cruiser USS Guyasuta is found adrift in the Kadena system; duly logged records show the entire crew beaming down to the system’s neutron star, for unclear reasons.[11]
  • September: The logistics of supporting the anti-piracy efforts becomes extremely difficult.[8]
Three months after June.
  • Late October: Ongoing negotiations between the the UFP and the Klingon Empire are in danger of breaking down, and open warfare is becoming likely. Starfleet Command expects the Klingons will launch a surprise attack after they issue an ultimatum demanding the Federation withdraw from all disputed regions along their mutual border.[12]
Guide: Unity defines this period as being two-weeks long, before the Organians enforce the peace.
  • Late October-early November: All seven Unity class command cruisers are crewed and five deploy to the primary theaters (albeit without a chance to install the more powerful weapons).[13]
  • November: A cessation of hostilities with the Klingons is mandated by the Organians.[6]
The Organian peace. Month is determined by the stardates 3198.4 and 3201.7 (from TOS: Errand of Mercy), placing it in early November of the year.
  • November: USS Affiliation (NCC-2108) and USS Federation (NCC-2100) are in striking range of Gohrem and Kassat, the main garrison worlds before the industrialized core area of the Empire, when the call for truce comes through from the tiny agrarian world of Organia.[10]
  • After November: The (known) construction programs (for the Federation class) at the assorted shipyards are ordered shut down.[10]
  • Late: Salazar Fleet Builders receives orders to begin dismantling Amchitka class light cruisers, resulting in protests on Andor.[8]
Andorians were expecting to receive upgrade orders for Amchitkas instead.
  • Late: With the exception of four vessels transferred to Training Command, most of the Derfs are transferred to the UFP Transit Authority.
