• June: Sixteen pirate attacks are connected to Orion activity all along the crucial Rigel shipping lane, and several dozen more are suspected of having been committed by Orions.

Event occurs 3 months after the Organian treaty.

• USS Niantic (NCC-1105, Miramar class) is lost in action on the hunting grounds of an alien planet-eating device.

• USS Mojave, sub-class lead light cruiser, is decommissioned and a series of bitter preservation battles begin.

• USS Constellation (NCC-1017, Constitution class) is sacrificed, in order to destroy the Doomsday Machine.

• September: The logistics of supporting the anti-piracy efforts becomes extremely difficult.

Three months after June.

• The final Mojave sub-class light cruiser is decommissioned.

• USS Wotan (NX-1390) is relegated to destructive structural testing, being decommissioned by the end of the year.

• Late: Salazar Fleet Builders receives orders to begin dismantling Amchitka class light cruisers, resulting in protests on Andor.

Andorians were expecting to receive upgrade orders for Amchitkas instead.
