Historical Events

  • Early: USS Texas (NCC-1900, Texas (II) sub-class) defeats a Klingon D6 cruiser at Iota Eridani.[1]
  • Klingon ships begin a series of frequent raids into UFP territory.[2]
  • The United Federation of Planets rejects the membership bid by Bolarus IX, claiming the Bolians remain unstable. A world government would have to survive the coming of a new generation for the Bolians to prove their commitment to world peace.[3]
Background material is per the Star Trek Roleplaying Game, Book 7: Worlds. The year is also game-canon, presumed to occur in a short time after first contact, but enough time to allow the planet to meet minimal membership requirements.
The 2260 date is a best guess. The source indicates they were the first of three systems to rejoin the Federation in the 2260s.
  • The Proxima class battle cruisers start decommissioning and are mothballed in surplus depots.[5]
  • The Mojave sub-class light cruisers finish receiving weapons upgrades.[1]
  • The last of the final 26 remaining Texas class light cruisers to receive overhauls, is completed, as a Texas (II) class light cruiser.[1]
  • USS Smith (Byrd class galactic survey cruiser) returns a bit early from her 25-year voyage.[6]
The early return is surmised, as the ship undergoes experimental modifications in the following year.
  • The first of the remaining Larson destroyers are brought to full phaser VII standard, equipped with duotronic systems, and upgraded with other technologies.[2]
To be clear, this refers to refits of existing Larsons and not the new (i.e. 2261) Mk VI.
  • The heyday of the Larson class destroyer begins.[2]
  • The PB-32 deep space engine becomes available and immediately provided to the Nelson class scouts/destroyers.[7]
  • Two Nelson class scouts are converted to the Moisanen subclass.[7]
  • Two Nelson class scouts are converted to the Sager subclass.[7]
  • The final Burke Flight IV frigate is decommissioned.[8]
  • The final Aldrin Flight IV frigate is decommissioned.[8]
