Historical Events

• Bolarus IX develops and initiates an assistance plan for the people of Uzor: mass colonization of a nearby planet for the Uzorian refugees.

Background material is per the Star Trek Roleplaying Game, Book 7: Worlds. The date of this plan is game-canon.

• Melev rejoins the UFP.

The 2262 date is a best guess. The source indicates they were the second of three systems to rejoin the Federation in the 2260s.

• All Pytheas sub-class exploratory cruisers and some Ranger sub-class light cruisers receive an upgrade.

• USS Atlanta (NCC-1440, Baton Rouge class) fights Orion forces in a completely successful mission of apprehending suspected as well as known and convicted pirates, with zero casualties.

• The Orion cartels are provoked by the Atlanta operation and attack the dilithium-rich world of Ghioghe. Heavy cruiser USS Levant (NCC-1442, Baton Rouge class) and light cruiser USS Sutherland (NCC-1010) are both lost in the Battle of Ghioghe.

• The UFP recognizes Orion sovereignty and neutrality on issues that had formerly been considered criminal activity.

The year is presumed, but can fall the year the Battle of Ghioghe.

• During Exercise Have Gun, USS Azrael (NCC-527, Siva II sub-class) springs a major leak and loses 12 crew when she drifts too close to the black star TNC 65823 and, while disoriented, collides with the shields of the dreadnought USS Dominion (NCC-2115, Federation class).

• USS Pompey (NCC-506) is the first of three Siva II sub-class vessels to receive a second nacelle, initiating the Pompey sub-class.

• The Icarus and Ashanti class battle cruisers and Apache class heavy destroyers complete the refit period begun in 2259.

• Eight mothballed Texas class light cruisers are converted and recommissioned as Negrev sub-class mine sweepers.

• The Federation makes first contact with Delta IV (i.e., the Deltans).

• Remaining original-type Nelson class scouts are converted to the Sager subclass.

• The two Moisanen subclass scouts are re-converted to the Sager subclass.

• Late: USS Smith (Byrd class galactic survey cruiser) begins the second round of experimental modifications, to explore models of the cruiser-carrier concept.

• The last Hubble class runabouts are decommissioned (and sold in the civilian market).

• The last HSI(U)-1B 'Bowditch' survey cutter (variant of the old Class G1 heavy warp shuttle) is removed from service with Starfleet.
