Historical Events

  • The Vanguard class is decommissioned, with suitable remainder selected for Boyne-type drone modification.[1]
The Ganymede subclass will be ready first in 2185.
  • The 2180 Star Fleet Defense Review is completed. An explicit decision is made to not develop a successor of any sort to the escort fighter line.[2]
  • Star Fleet releases a request for proposals for a medium-warp unmanned cargo vessel.[3]
  • New versions of liaison crafts start entering service, beginning the replacement of the Montcalm and Meridio classes.[4]
  • The Andorian Imperial Guard discontinues logistical support for the Ilthirin couriers and Tanathooef escorts.[5]
This establishes the need for an enlarged defensive fleet, and the trained personnel to crew them.

New Technology

  • Warp core maximum overload extended to 11 minutes.
