Summary
- The Vulcan star empire has transitioned from a power projection policy, to one that is more standoffish and reactionary.[1]
- The UESN's (and very shortly, the UESF's) attempts to cope with the expansion of colonized space is problematic.[2]
- Early: The UESF and UESPA explorations were generally limited to 20 lightyears from Earth at the beginning of the century.[3]
- Second Half: Carrier warfare (now spatial) re-develops, with the construction of dedicated warp-capable motherships for fightercraft.[3]
- Second Half: Fightercraft escort missions are determined to be an outdated concept.[4]
- Last Quarter: Military engagements are rare.[5]
- Last Quarter: Exploratory cruises are generally multi-ship endeavors: one light cruiser, two auxiliary cruisers, a logistics support vessel and sometimes a scoutship.[5]
- End: Starfleet is deeply committed to the starship development path of high quality and low quantity.[6]
- End: Increasing capabilities of the transporter are eating away the resupply role of shuttlecraft, and improved sensors reduce the need for in situ survey shuttles.[7]
Decades
Events
