Summary
- The Star Fleet transport and scout fleets are decimated in the post-war period. The remaining force is biased towards single-purpose offensive units of scant strategic value and the once considerable Vulcan and Andorian strength are depleted, in practice leaving humans alone to hold the dented shield and sword.[1]
- Earth struggles with the unexpected industrial slump effected by the war, and is in no position to compensate by introducing a greater number of hulls.[2]
- Late decade: Star Fleet's research vessels are extremely strained, due to exploration demand. Most UFP member navies have been unable to donate useful research vessels, lacking the tradition of pure science operations far away from home space.[4]
- Late: The Suliban Cabal collapses following several significant acts of terrorism throughout the Beta Quadrant and Klingon Empire.[5]
Years
Events
- Virtually all corporation-level trade pacts within the new Federation are dissolved, and cargo routes are opened for free competition. Many of Earth’s Boomer businesses are marginalized in the process.[6]
- The elderly Vulcan T’Khut fleet is ordered to distribute its armament and powerplants for use in fortifications at the Romulan border.[1]
- The post-war adaption of Vulcan medium-endurance craft for use by other states begins. [7]
- The Andorian Imperial Guard battle cruisers, cruisers and frigates became the de facto defense force of the UFP Star Fleet.[8]
- A UESPA study of Federation resources and vast areas of targeted space determines exploration will be on a downward trend through the 2170s. A majority of medium range exploration is carried out by the Daedalus class survey cruisers.[9]
- Late decade: Star Fleet has a frigate design philosophy where trans-atmospheric and interstellar capability can be achieved via modularity.[10]
- Late decade: In comparison to that received by the UESF and allied forces during the Romulan War, Star Fleet is receiving a bare trickle of funding, due largely in part to the continuing development of the Federation as a functional state.[10]
