Historical Events

  • The DY-950 is no longer in service with Star Fleet nor any major corporations. The model would continue to be used by smaller companies and individual traders.[1]

  • A rearming of Ashantis and Icaruses is approved; available ships enter drydocks for upgrades.[5]
  • USS Avenger (NCC-1860) becomes the first Surya subclass heavy frigate to become operational with a linear-coil upgrade.[7]
  • VSS K’Kmarak is recommissioned, following her conversion from the original T'Pari standard.[8]

  • The USS Bader, USS Clifton, and USS Tombaugh (Bader class exploratory cruisers) host a series of Sagan Award recipients for the sixth year, while the USS Akela and USS Crescent retrace old survey routes.[11]
This occurs through 2274.
  • USS Jones (NCC-1493, Bader class exploratory cruiser) completes a conversion to Flight III status.[11]
  • The CF-268 Talion sublight fightercraft are fully withdrawn from service; the CF-268A Torches are fully committed to training roles.[12]

  • The first of six Chandley class strike frigates in the Flight III configuration enters service with Star Fleet.[18]
  • The twenty-eighth and final Terrier subclass escort is delivered to Star Fleet.[19]
  • Star Fleet's defense review reports the strategic need for command ships at ten units, or one per each operational fleet.[20]
  • USS Knutson (NCC-1298, Baker class light exploratory cruiser) is converted into a Flight II destroyer (the only one of its flight).[21]
  • The Baker Flight III destroyers, newbuilds and conversions from Flight Is, enter service with Star Fleet.[21]
  • The final Remora Flight I escort selected for re-activation and modernization as a Charger subclass escort completes the process.[22]
  • The final Thufir class destroyer is delivered to the AIG.[23]
