Historical Events
- Early: Modification work on the Syracuse destroyer design continues.[1]
- This is the design phase for the Saladin subclass.
- The final ships (of the ordered 7) of the Archon heavy cruiser class are completed and enter service. Further progress of the USS Gjöa in the Rapier yards above New Aberdeen is cancelled.[2][3]
- Apparently the Archon run was cut shorter than originally intended.
- The Trent and Kovaris light destroyers are relegated to Activation Class Two and sent to the Romulan border as the larger Detroyat and Saladin destroyers are commissioned.[4]
- The phase cannons are removed from all Valkyr subclass shuttlecarriers.[5]
- The final Baton Rouge heavy cruisers are built.[6]
- The final Syracuse subclass destroyer is built.[1]
- Construction starts on USS Saladin (NCC-520), first of the Saladin subclass destroyers.[1]
- Construction starts on USS Hermes (NCC-585), first of the Hermes subclass destroyers.[7]
- USS Robinson, prototype for the fleet tug/tender, is deigned to be fully operational; it will be leased to Starfleet in the future.[8]
- The Sherman class light transport and its variant, the Mk IIa cargo drone, enter service with Starfleet.[9]
