Historical Events
- In a Pyrrhic victory, USS Akula (NCC-275), a Placido class scout, is lost following combat against Klingons at the Battle of Arquin Pillar. Two of the nine Trents deployed to region fall out and do not make the engagement.[1][2]
- USS Audace (Caracal class) falls victim to unknown enemies – most likely prey to Klingon disruptor cannon. The disappearance of the Audace was only noticed months after the fact; no flight recorder marker was found.[3]
- June 18: A Federation-flagged mining ship, Castro, is destroyed in the Sussmen-MacFarlene system's asteroid belt by a Klingon D5.[4]
- In response to the destruction of Castro, the UFP levies sanctions against the Klingon Empire and establishes mandatory trade treaty reviews with all non-UFP states that also do business with the Klingons.[4]
