Historical Events

  • The fourth flight of Durance class transports, the Chryse subclass, enters service with the UE Starfleet.[1]
The date of first service is assumed, as the source does not say when they were produced, other than to suggest they were the result of wartime production.
  • A fleet of 10 Romulan battle cruisers open fire on Denobula, killing 3 million.[2]
  • When Romulan forces are feared to reach Earth, frantic measures are taken to step up local defenses. Numerous outdated Djartannas are summoned to act as shields for the homeworld. Several engagements with Romulan advance forces end in Romulan retreat, but Starfleet now has to assume the enemy has accurate knowledge of the inner worlds and their defenses.[3]
  • The Ganges class destroyers are pressed to system defense service and begin to fight their battles under impulse power.[4]
  • Tacticians surmise that almost a hundred of the forward colonies and outposts will have to be abandoned and new defense lines formed closer to Earth. As this will result in eventual defeat, an offensive strategy is researched.[4]
  • UESS Candace (S-5665, Mercury class) is destroyed when the repair dock it was occupying is suicide-bombed by Romulan missile boats.[5]
  • An additional (but limited to 5) Triton heavy cruisers are ordered.[6]
  • The Minuteman class destroyer enters service with the UESF.[7]
  • The UESF orders the construction of (at least) four Poseidon class heavy cruiser keels.[8]
The year is conjecture, but it was in place by the time the Achilles and Helena class cruisers were 'chosen as the affordable way to continue the war'.
  • The Achilles and Helena class cruisers enter service with the UESF.[9]
  • The Christopher class light cruiser enters service with the UESF.[10]
  • Construction starts on three vessels of the Yorktown battle cruiser.[11]
  • The lease on the UESS Pirithous is allowed to lapse and the ship is returned to Vulcan.[12]
The return of the ship is conjecture, but its lease did end with its service to the UESF.
  • The Zoenamy class corvette enters service.[13]
  • The lass Sn'Dahl class scoutship is retired from service with the V'Shar.[14]
At the time of the ENT episode "Precious Cargo", it is clear that the Kriosians were an independent state under the rule of the Sovereign Dynasty of Krios Prime. Memory Beta suggests they lost their independence during the Romulan war, so the arbitrary year of 2158 was selected.
  • November: Following severe battle damage, Enterprise (NX-01, class lead) is recalled to Earth for an experimental overhaul.[18]
