The Federation Customs Service (FCS) is an agency within the United Federation of Planets that is responsible for collecting tariffs and for controlling the flow of goods, including animals, transports, personal, and hazardous items, into and across the borders of the Federation. Three basic missions of the FCS are taxation, security and trade facilitation.
History

- The existence of the FCS appears to be introduced in Timo (and accepted as SFC game-canon).
- Future task (delete this when confirmed): some of the articles used as references for the provision of vessels & personnel may not be most applicable to that statement and should be double-checked.
- Star Fleet has agreed, at times, to provide ships and crews for the purpose of enforcing the service's mandates.[2][3][4][5][6][7] It has also procured vessels that were originally designed or built for the FSC.[8]
