Debrune (person)
Debrune was an admiral in the diaspora fleet abandoning Vulcan for a new homeworld in 369. He was in charge of safety for the rear of the migration, handling mismatched and straggling vessels. Under his authority, he allowed small groups of followers to break away to form colonies on (barely) suitable planets that were being passed.[1][2][3][4]
Eventually, he ordered the remainder of the stragglers split into two groups. One would be led by Vice Admiral Torek, which would settle upon the planet Rigel V in 453. The second, led by Admiral Debrune himself, would settle on Yadalla Prime, located on the Federation side of the present Romulan Neutral Zone, in 474. Others would continue on to form smaller colonies, such as on Draken IV, and deeper in the Beta quadrant, on planets such as Barradas III, Dessica II and Calder II. Though each group lost communication with the rest upon every fragmentation, the species of post-Vulcans founding these settlements would be archeologically referred to as the Debrune.[1][2][3][4]
