Historical Events

• The construction of the three interrupted Advance subclass battle cruisers is reauthorized. Two are designated as Whorfin subclass battle cruisers (of the Horizon class) and shortly enter service, while the hull of NCC-1023 is re-tasked to become the prototype of a prospective Indomitable subclass of the Horizon heavy cruiser. Testing of USS Indomitable (NX-1023) begins shortly after final completion.

• The Apache scout subclass enters service with Star Fleet.

• The trailing sensors of USS Siding Springs (NCC-I356, Lowell scout) intercept the signals of a high velocity probe passing through the galactic plane at an estimated speed of warp 430.

• The last of the Class B4 / HSA(P)-32 "Big Sioux" heavy atmospheric shuttles is removed from service with Star Fleet.

• The Class B6 / HSA-64 "Apache" heavy atmospheric/spatial shuttle enters service with Star Fleet.

• The Class B4 inspection pod enters service with Star Fleet.

• The basis for a new type of heavy cruiser with significant warp performance improvements is suggested by several classified studies.

• The United Federation of Planets extends membership to Axanar.

• Smoldering tension develops the Altairians, Humans, & Palkeo Est of Altairs III & IV and the Altairian & Human government on Altair VI.

• The Federation Sovereign Territory is modified by the Unified Treaty on the Boundaries of Legally Recognized Federation Space to have the sphere centered instead on Wolf 424 (Babel) and increased to 50 lightyears (from 23).

• October: The Kovaris light phase gun destroyer subclass enters service with Star Fleet.
