- The Khitomer Conference, the first full peace negotiations between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire, is held at Camp Khitomer, a Klingon colony on the planet Khitomer near the border with the Federation.[1]
- By this time, only six vessels of the Ariadne patrol corvette class are still in commissioned service, though only serving in prestige roles.[2]
- By this time, the Defender class still possesses the highest firepower, weapons range, and endurance of any Star Fleet vessel in operation, easily surpassing even the modern Excelsior variants.[3]
- The human group "1992" steal the former USS Yorktown from the Star Fleet Museum, disappearing without a trace.[4]
