• June: USS Inuit (NCC-747), Cahuya class survey cruiser, is lost at Azha to consumption by a spaceborne lifeform of a type common in the region (though, at the time, it was presumed to be due to an encounter with Klingons).

• The final Advance class battle cruiser is stricken from Starfleet's rolls.

• The last of the Keppler sub-class of Ptolemy fleet tug/tenders are completed.

• USS Texas, the first of the final 26 remaining Texas class light cruisers to receive overhauls, is completed, as a new Texas (II) class light cruiser.

• The ships of the three Rochester sub-classes complete the refits.

• The final Guardian class heavy escort is decommissioned.

• Construction starts on the Paladin subclass destroyer.
