Historical Events

• The last of the Baton Rouge sub-class is decommissioned. USS San Diego (NCC-1441) is preserved for posterity.

• A decade after her decommissioning and bitter preservation battles, ex-USS Mojave becomes the sole museum specimen for the entire Texas family.

• The last of the Rochester and Kitty Hawk sub-classes are decommissioned. As they are not cleared for foreign sales due to their advanced armament and the general policy change, the ships start to undergo scrapping, mostly at Aldebaran.

The last four Kitty Hawks-including USS Trailblazer (NCC-1596) and USS Scovil (NCC-1598)-had been quietly transferred to TacFleet and were not decommmisioned based upon this date.
