Names: Rigel IV, Beta Rigel A IV, Zamiar

History

  • Prior to 2165: The planet is settled by the Regelians of Beta Rigel V, who work with the native Kaylars to develop the planet.[1]
This probably occurred not too much earlier (no more than a few hundred years at most).
  • 2181: Human colonists found Polar City.[2]
The source says it happened in the 2180s.
  • 2293: Following an investigation by Star Fleet that uncovers prostitution, illegal animal trading, and child slavery as endemic to the culture and government of Beta Rigel IV and V, both planets are immediately suspended from the Federation.[4]
  • 2297: After very public internal investigations and prosecutions of the identified slavers, Beta Rigel IV and V are re-admitted into the Federation.[2]
The expulsion and re-admission is SFC-canon; the date of admission is from the source.

Notes

  • Pirates (presumably Orion-led) operated from this planet, until it joined the Federation.
