Merak II is the second planet (of three) in the Merak system.

Early 2260: Production of the first two Derf class buoy tender/mine warfare ships begins.^[3]

Eventually, it is discovered that zenite ore is necessary to fight the plague.

2409: Another botanical plague strikes the planet, once again requiring sizable amounts of zenite ore.^[2]
