Historical Events
- January 21st: The surviving crew of USS Cavalier (ND-626, Cavalry class), is found alive and in good health by USS Lorelei. Their recovery is a long-awaited positive media event in the middle of the postwar atmosphere of disillusionment, ambiguity and anxiety.[1][2]
- A conflict erupts with the Tarn, when the USS Constitution is attacked and over 200 crew are killed.[1][3][4]
- The attack on the Constitution as the opening act is presumed.
- The USS Verdun and USS Constantine, both Messier class, are pressed to duty against the Tarn. Both disappear: the Constantine without a trace and the Verdun until 2366.[3][4]
- The last Messier to be retired, USS Braxton (CA-195), is on her way to be preserved in the recently founded Starfleet Museum when her warp drive system creates a catastrophic asymmetry and tears the ship into pieces. The skeleton crew of fifteen is killed instantly.[3]
- The Ottawa subclass of the Hercules transports starts to receive significant warp engine upgrades.[5]
- The last Djartanna destroyers are removed from active service.[6]
