Historical Events

  • USS Indomitable (NX-1023, subclass of the Horizon heavy cruiser) passes most weapons tests, but consistently fails drive tests. It is decommissioned shortly thereafter.[1]
  • A third (and final) Whorfin subclass (of the Horizon heavy cruiser) is ordered (NCC-1029), to be delivered in 2215.[1]
The hull was initially ordered-along with the previous two Whorfins-as an Advance, before production on that sub-class was suspended.
  • Construction begins on the first Alpan subclass (of the Ariadne) patrol corvette.[2]
The years of production are mostly conjecture.
  • The last of the Kovaris subclass (of the Trent class) light destroyer (both phase gun and torpedo types) enters service with Star Fleet.[3]
  • USS Leonides (NCC-772, Mann class) intercepts a group of pirates ransacking the armed Klingon transport Flying Fortress, and thus unknowingly throws a challenge to the Sta Mura dynasty, plunging the secular elements of the Klingon Empire into a heated conflict with the Federation as well.[4][5][6]
The decision to label the Fortress as Klingon is game-canon. Comments regarding Klingon-vs-Klingon engagements and the year 2212 (in the Guide: Ranger article) suggest the Sta Mura dynasty is the current leading political power within the Klingon Empire and the Leonides finds herself involved between apparently secular and religious factions.
  • Late year: Star Fleet shunts almost 40% of its maintenance budget into the development of a mass-produceable supercruising light cruiser.[5]
