- The Helena class cruisers are retired from service.[2]
- USS Minstrel (NCC-272), Placido class surveyor, achieves a class warp record of 4.92.[3]
- USS Bellweather (NCC-259), Placido class surveyor, is among the first vessels to test tectonic manipulation by melting down a series of fault lines on g Spica II.[3]
- USS Shrike (NCC-285), Castor class survey cruiser, escorted by the heritage light cruiser USS Yellowjacket (Christopher class), retraces the historic route of survey ship Defiant, albeit without finding evidence on the fate of the original explorers.[4]
