Astronomical Data
61 Cygni is comprised of a binary pair of Type K stars, with 6 planets orbiting both.[1]
Names
- System: Tellar
- Stars: 61 Cygni A, 61 Cygni B
Planetary Bodies

- Sivel (61 Cygni III) (orbit #3): Class K - Adaptable[1]
- Tellar Prime (Tellar, 61 Cygni IV) (orbit #4): Class M - Terrestrial[1]
- Varagas (61 Cygni V) (orbit #5): Class C - Geoinactive[1]
- Boragus (61 Cygni VI) (orbit #6): Class J - Gas Giant[1]
- 61 Cygni VIa
- 61 Cygni VIb
- 61 Cygni VIc
- 61 Cygni VId
- 61 Cygni VIe
History
- 1867: Tellarite astronaut Ranx becomes the first of his species to enter the atmosphere of another planet (Thenar).[1]
- He died when his spacecraft crashed on the planet.
- Colonies are established on Rukor, Sivel, and Varagas, as well as on three of Boragus' moons.
- 2155: Alpha Centauri, Andor, Earth, Tellar, Vulcan, and minor worlds (including Axanar and Kaferia) approve a first draft agreement for an alliance to be formed for trade, cultural exchange, and mutual protection.[2]
- 2161: The governments of Alpha Centauri, Andor, Earth, Tellar, and Vulcan sign the Articles of the Federation; Tellar joins the United Federation of Planets.
- 2218: A Tellarite nationalist group, similar to Earth First, starts to gain support, due in part to increasing Klingon hostility.[3]
- Prior to 2246: Star Fleet reserves a number of ship construction facilities for the Aakeen class heavy transport.[4]
Important Locations
- list known locations that have game implications (ex: defense bases, depots, etc.); otherwise, "None"
Notes
- This system is the location of the Tellarite homeworld, Tellar Prime.
- Thenar is the only planet unsettled. It was too difficult to terraform or otherwise settle and the mining operations once established there are no longer operational.[1]
