Historical Events

  • The last of the Mars subclass light torpedo destroyers is sold to member navies of the UFP.[1]
  • The DY-500 Wheeler class of transports is removed from active service with Star Fleet.[2]
  • The final operational Class B1 (or IP-27) workpods are replaced.[3]
  • The Almeida class heavy (later multi-mission) cruiser enters service.[4]
  • After only nine weeks of study, a committee defines the ideal Federation scientific scoutship, employable as a military reconnaissance asset in case of resurgence of hostilities. These requirements are passed to industry.[5]
Year is game-canon.
  • The dilithium foci of the USS Prospect (Triton cruiser) shatters, killing Commodore Arkadi Lunov, the last surviving cruiser commander of the legendary ‘escape velocity’ era.[7]
  • December 23: A star near the border of Klingon space suddenly goes supernova, destroying the single planet in orbit there, and leading to the formation of the Azure Nebula.[8]
This is the homeworld of the Caeliar, and the initiation of the events that lead to the creation of the Borg.
