Historical Events
- USS Eagle, sole member of its commando cruiser sub-class to the Texas refit, is decommissioned 5 years after entering service.[1]
- Apparently, its decommissioning was to put it into the 'black books'. Section 31, maybe?
- Defense Command appreciates the use of the Pyotr Velikiy class heavy cruisers in the combat transport and Marine landing support missions, and orders 8 more.[2]
- These newbuilds will be the more modern Beowulf sub-class.
- The final Pyotr Velikiy (Mk I) class heavy cruiser is completed (and enters service).[2]
- Construction begins on USS Beowulf (NCC-1690, first of her sub-class), a modernized Pyotr Velikiy class heavy cruiser.[2]
