Historical Events
- Early January: USS Bonaventure (NX-B1) is commissioned.[1]
- Early: Star Fleet Division announces that it lacks the capacity to produce all the Amchitka variant light cruisers for which it was contracted. Salazaar Fleet Builders obtains two of the required 40 keels, easing tensions on Andor.[2]
- April: In celebration of the early design success, Starfleet gold another, more public, commissioning ceremony for USS Bonaventure.[1]
- May: USS Bonaventure is declared to be within operational warp engine development status.[1]
- May: USS Bonaventure departs on the first (of three) long performance evaluation cruises.[1]
- The ten 'newest' Venture class light cruisers receive overhauls to beef up their propulsive capabilities (and fall into the Cahuya new sub-class, accordingly).[3]
- The presumption that it was the last ten existing ships is based only on practicality.
- The Armstrong light cruiser subclass is retired.[4]
- USS Boston (NCC-425, Syracuse sub-class) is re-commissioned as USS Einstein (NCC-O425), first of her sub-class.[5]
- July: USS Bonaventure departs on the second (of three) long performance evaluation cruises.[1]
- Month is conjecture.
- Two Hermes class scouts are lost to light Klingon ships while such long range solo missions, in two separate incidents.[6]
- Starfleet decides to never deploy the Hermes scouts outside protective fleets, and instead use them solely as sensor platforms in conjunction with destroyers and cruisers.[6]
- September: USS Bonaventure departs on the last (of three) long performance evaluation cruises. Contact with the ship is lost just outside Deltan space.[1]
- Month is conjecture, but sense the other two cruises were probably no longer than 2 months, the ship was probably lost this month or the next; September was selected.
- October: Subsequent searches for USS Bonaventure by cruiser USS Savannah reveal no debris or ion trails, nor the antimatter residue characteristic of the vented plasma of the experimental ship. All 89 persons aboard are declared missing.[1]
- The Hermes class scout starts receiving transporter upgrades.[6]
- After 2230.
- The overhauling of nineteen additional Texas light cruisers is ordered, following 2230's relaunch of USS Rub al Khali (NCC-926).[8]
