Background: Starship Dynamics

Note: this is modified from the original source.

The S2F-U1 Corsair III medium-range shuttle was an early transatmospheric spacecraft, primarily used from the late 21st century, into the early/mid 22nd century in the United Earth Stellar Navy.

The Corsair was a modular design, with separate cockpit and propulsion modules. This design, in concert with a number of creative configurations, made for a very flexible workhorse craft. From passenger duty to cargo to construction, the Corsair was up to the task.

In passenger configuration, the shuttlecraft had a capacity of 3 crew and up to 20 passengers. The passenger module's airfoils, necessary for atmospheric flight, can be retracted into the hull for space travel and on-board stowage.
