Biography

On March 24, 2163, the results for the gubernatorial elections on Alrond colony, a planet in the Alpha Canis Minoris system came in. Lecheb sh'Makesh had won the elections and became the Governor of Alrond. Just as she promised during the campaign, she called for the colony to secede from the Federation and declare itself the seat of the "Andorian Empire-in-exile", with the support of the Alrondian defense fleet commanders. Her anti-Federation rhetoric become increasingly confrontational in mid-2164. By this time, she had inspired the "Lechebist" movement, which was part of a wider anti-Federation party, the "Planetarists".[1][2]

In 2165, a radical group called the "Keepers of the Throne" became active on Alrond and started to carry out violent actions against the non-Andorian population (including the Arkenites) of the planet. Governor sh'Makesh attempted to keep the group contained, however it soon became clear that the Keepers intended to take power and they eventually made an attempt on her life. sh'Makesh was hospitalized and replaced by a new governor who requested Star Fleet aid and renewed Alrond's commitment to both the Andorian Empire and the United Federation of Planets.[3]
